Newton Abbot is a lovely place to enjoy a day out. There are many things to do. Personally, I enjoy spending some quality at the parks. My favourite parks in Newton Abbot are:

Decoy Country Park This park is great for spending a day with the family as it has, a children’s area as well as a peaceful lake for the adults to enjoy. The lake can be used for a variety of different things, mainly watersports. Decoy Country Park has a lot of different wildlife throughout the park. So you can enjoy the sounds of the birds and bees. There are many facilities. The facilities are toilets, a car park, walking trails, fishing, sailing, refreshment area and sports pitches. There are also many facilities for disabled people, which are, disabled toilets, parking and mobility scooters.

Stover Country Park This country park is approximately 46 hectares. It has woodlands, a lake and heathland. In Stover Country Park, there is also a lot of wildlife, mainly dragonflies. Devon County Council owns Stover Country Park. There are public toilets, disabled parking and walking paths. I recommend spending the day in Stover Country Park with the family for a whole lot of fun.

Courtenay Park This park is a lovely peaceful place where you can get away from the busy hustle bustle. In the park, there is a fountain, a lovely garden, a pond and a bandstand. There are plenty of facilities, which are, a play area, toilets, sensory garden, bicycle area and a teen shelter. This park is located across from Newton Abbot Railway Station. This is good for those travelling by train. Courtenay Park is easily accessible. Public transport around the park is good. If you travel by bicycle, there is a bike rack in the park which is near the kids play area.

Ross Park This park has so much to do. There is absolutely no chance of boredom. Ross Park is lively, it has, a shop, games room, play area for the kids and table tennis. There is an an area for dog walking as well as a restaurant. This park is situated just outside Newton Abbot but is definitely worth a visit.

Bakers Park This park is quite big, and has lots to do. There is an area for ball games and also tennis courts. The tennis courts are free of charge and no booking is required. There is a foot path; football pitches and a kid’s play area. The park can be entered from all sides. The public transport is good, there are two buses which come and go every so often.

Each of these parks are great and can provide you with an enjoyable day out. I truly enjoy visiting each of them and go whenever I get a chance. All of the parks are easy to find and will allow you to relax and let the kids enjoy themselves. There are also some other lovely parks in Newton Abbot worth visiting, however I recommend visiting the parks listed above.
