Summers here, and now is the time to make the most of it. Fife, being one of the council areas in Scotland has plenty to do, so for a fun filled summer, Fife is the place to go. In Fife, there is something for everyone, no matter what age or sex. I highly suggest a visit to Fife for a long or short break, whether with family/friends or even on your own.
Whatever the weather, you can still have a fantastic holiday. From Edinburgh, Fife is located across the Firth of Forth. Only 20 minutes away from Fife there are two reliable airports, Dundee airport and Edinburgh airport. Fife is made up of Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, St Andrews and many other smaller towns like, Methil, Buckhaven, Cardenden etc. In Fife there are many gardens, castles, theatres and lovely old buildings.
Situated on the east coast of Fife, is St Andrews. St Andrews is renowned for many reasons, one being, that it is the main place for playing golf. There are golf courses throughout St Andrews. That s not all St Andrews has to offer, there are many other things for locals and tourists to do. For example, The West Sands 2 mile, sandy beach, is highly recommended and is the most well known beach in Scotland. One of St Andrews smaller beaches is, The Castle Sands, which is only 1 mile in length. Both beaches are extremely popular. If you re looking to stay over in St Andrews, there is great accommodation, to suit every ones price range. There are B& BS, guest houses and hotels. So no matter what you re budget you can still enjoy your break in St Andrews. Public transport in and around St Andrews is fantastic. Throughout St Andrews there are also many historical buildings and areas. With so much to do, you always need time to eat. There are so many restaurants and takeaways, so you ll never go hungry! There is a fine place to eat to suit every taste bud.
Also in Fife, there is Craigtoun Country Park. This park is beautiful in both the mornings and evenings. You can take enjoyable long or short walks. Craigtoun Country Park opened in 1947. Craigtoun Country Park has so much to do for all age ranges. For the children there is an adventure play area, trampolines, bouncy castle, and a mini railway. For the adults there is, glasshouses, bowling green and gardens. For both older and younger people there is crazy golf, boating and pets. Visiting Craigtoun Country Park is truly an enjoyable experience for adults and kids. You’ll never be bored.
Another lovely place to visit in Fife, during the summer is, St Andrews Botanic Garden. Being 18 acres, it is really quite large. It is situated not far from St Andrews town centre. The garden has many different areas, some are, waterfalls, pools, rock garden, and pathways, which are ideal for walking. There are also many plants, trees and shrubs throughout the garden.
As you can see, there is plenty to do in Fife with things for adults and children. Personally, I find Fife to be a very exciting place, and if you don’t visit, you’ll miss out on a fantastic experience.
