Bombay is a land rich in culture and traditions. Due to numerous tourists going to the town, the city has built and preserved the best tourists spots it can offer. Aside from that the town is a proud producer of the best Hindi films that penetrate Western world.

Mumbai is the city of business and probably one of the busiest places in India. But despite the advancement and modernization, it is also a good place for a vacation getaway. Some of the popular places to visit here are the Nariman Point, Girgaum Chowpatti, and Marine Drive. Theme parks and zoos are also worth visiting.

Nariman Point is a premier business and commercial district. It is located at the tip of Marine Drive. Several financial services, brokerage companies and expensive residential condos are found in the area.

Girgaum Chowpatti is a famous public beach connecting to Marine Drive. Tourists can visit the beach especially during Ganesh Chathurti festival. Several vendors of corn, savoury snacks and fast food dishes are available. The Marine Point skyline and Malabar Hills can also be seen while at the beach.

Marine Drive is a C shaped long boulevard located in south Mumbai. It connects Nariman Point, Babulnata and Malabar Hills. It is known for its beautiful promenade lined with palm trees where one can enjoy sunset. It is also known as the Queen s Necklace because street light resemble like stringed pearls at night.

Essel World is a 64 acre amusement park located at Gorai. It has 34 major rides like roller coasters and water world adventures. It can be reached by bus, train and ferry ride.

Water Kingdom is another theme park located at a coastal village near Mumbai. It is known for its water games like high speed rides, water rafting and largest wave pool. One can enjoy the thrill and experience Asia s largest theme water park,

Jijamata Udyaan is a 48 acres garden zoo located at Byculla Mumbai. The entrance is designed with a clock tower surrounded by old trees. In the exit site the elephant statue stands. The zoo preserves several endangered species of birds and animals. This place is also known as Victoria Gardens.

Mumbai is not only blessed with wonderful tourist attractions but also in the field of film production. Bollywood, the largest Mumbai based Hindi film industry in India has already influenced the Western Cinema. As a matter of fact, the Bollywood Movie Awards is hosted at New York USA.

This film production spends multi million to billion dollar productions just to create world class films. Funds come from private distributors and some large studios. Some of the best Bollywood films produced are award winning.

A Wednesday is a thriller drama film in 2008. It was about a police commissioner about to retire. He tells a story of terrorism events that happened one particular Wednesday. The events had no record that it happened but people associated with the events knew that the events took place.

Rock On is a movie about the life of a rock band, which developed among four friends. It depicts the early stage of band formation to the time of popularity and success. The drama sets in when the band was in the peak of their career and differences set in causing the band to split. This film was shown in 2008.

Lagaan is a story about the struggle of a peasant village under the British rule. The village was challenged to play cricket, which in turn will allow them to not pay 3 year taxes. Generally, it is a story of teamwork that can lead to achieving goals. It was shown in 2001 and won international awards. It was also nominated in the Oscars.

Sholay is a story of two petty criminals who were hired by a former police chief to track down a big bandit. They became heroes of the village that the bandits usually attack. This film was shown in 1975 and was shown for 5 straight years in one Mumbai cinema.
