Car hire Italy is available from all of the major Italian airports including Rome Fiumicino, Naples airport, Venice Marco Polo and Milan Malpensa airports.

Rome Fiumicino airport

Rome Fiumicino has the airport code FCO and is the main airport for the capital city of Italy. Named after the painter and inventor Leonardo Da Vinci, Rome Fiumicino airport is located at 320 Via dell’Aeroporto di Fiumicino, 00050, Fiumicino. It has three terminals and deals with more than 35 million passengers annually making it one of the world s busiest airports. The airport is well equipped and has good facilities for disabled passengers as well as ATM machines, restaurants and plenty of shopping opportunities.

Car hire desks can be found at both Domestic and International Arrivals halls and are run by companies such as Avis, Europcar, Auto Europa, Hertz and Sixt as well as some local companies. Outside there are four multi storey car parks lettered A to D. The long term car park is located on the nearby motorway but there is a shuttle bus which goes to and from it regularly. There is also the option of having covered or non covered parking. Meanwhile terminals A and B have a limited number of short stay parking spaces. Like car hire Italy they should be booked ahead of time. Leaving the airport you take the A12 highway from Fiumicino towards the GRA which rings Rome. It is a 25 mile journey to the north east to get to Rome from Rome Fiumicino.

Naples airport

Naples International Airport is located at 95 Via del Riposo, 80144, and has the airport code NAP. Over five and a half million people use the airport annually. This two terminal airport is within easy access of Naples which is a mere seven miles away if you drive south west. To get there you head for the Tangenziale bypass road. There are a number of car hire companies at Naples airport such as Maggiore, Avis, Dollar, National, Europcar and Hertz. Whether or not you rent a car parking is easy as there are more than 1,400 spaces spread over six different car parks. P1 is for long term car parking and all the others deal with short term stays. If you want valet parking head to P5. For further help and information go to the customers service desk on the ground floor arrivals hall.

Venice Marco Polo airport

Named after the Italian explorer Marco Polo Venice airport is extremely popular with tourists and very busy. More than six million passengers use the airport and many of them rent cars to make the six mile journey to Venice. The main rental firms are Thrifty, Avis, Europcar, Budget, Maggiore and Hertz. The airport has the airport code VCE and is fully functional with shops, banks, places to eat and wi fi available throughout. For real comfort executives can use the VIP Save Marco Polo Club lounge, but only if they don t have any luggage with them. Another unforgettable way to enter Venice is by boat and although it is expensive you will be awestruck by the splendour of this magnificent city.

Milan Malpensa airport

MXP is the code for Milan Malpensa airport and it is located at 21010 Varese. This large airport deals with nearly 24 million passengers on an annual basis. They use two terminals, though currently the airport is being further expanded. Many car hire companies can be found at terminal 1 including Avis, EasyCar, Hertz, Locauto, Sixt and Targa Rent.
