Marmaris is one of the biggest cities in the whole country of Turkey. It was previously known as Physkos located where Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet, on the largest natural harbour of the world. It lies in the Mugla Province, Southwest Turkey surrounded by pine clad hills, calming sea and captivating bays. Gokova Gulf is found in its north, Mediterranean in the south, Datca Peninsula in the west, and Koycegiz Lake in the east. With its magnificent beauty, it offers the biggest tourist resort in Turkey.

Tourism is the main business of the city and during peak season, it houses as much as 400,000 tourists. It has the best sailing, not just for the whole Turkey but for the entire Mediterranean. It all began spreading as a beautiful place along the shore around the castle hill as a fishing village until it became whole year round home of many tourists and foreigners. During winter, the city population is about 15,000 which rise to 75,000 during summer.

The weather in Marmaris is very great ranging from 12 degrees to its hottest 32 degrees; with 15 17 degrees on the average. The climate is oftentimes sunny and warm; at times cloudy, occasional sunny or occasional rainy. Have great time with their sand statues and castles, open air concerts, night shows, and other activities. Enjoy the holidays and festivals in the city such as: Marmaris Youth and Spring Festival during 8th to 13th of May, Marmaris International Yacht Festival during mid of May, and Marmaris International Regata during last week of October to first week of November.

The people can enjoy good health care benefits whenever they need as the city government provides modern hospitals and clinic services. Enjoy the delicious food and taste Masmaris with their class restaurants such as Ali Bey Restaurant, Atlantis Restaurant, Caglayan Restaurant and a lot more. Mostly, food is made up of fresh fruits, beefs, pasta, kebab, steaks, pies and others. You can eat almost all your favorite cuisines and meals there.

Staying in Marmaris is very convenient because there are a lot of accommodations there which you can choose from. It varies from elegant resort hotels, traditional housing, vacation villas, lodging inns, modern apartments, or bed and breakfasts. Most of the hotels and other accommodations are friendly and offers high quality service, comfort stay, value for money package, great discounts and safe bookings which will make your stay a truly memorable one.

There are a lot of beautiful and scenic spots for sightseeing in Marmaris. Have a historical tour in Ephesus, Pamukkale, Caunos, Dalyan and KayaVillage. You may also have a fantastic Greek excursion, that is, visit Greece while you are spending a holiday in Turkey! You may also indulge in fun activities such as scuba diving, rafting, jeep safari, or paragliding or boat trips to Turunc, Ciftlik Bayir and Cleopatra Sedir Island. Definitely, don’t leave Marmaris without having seen the magnificent sites of Gunnucek Picnic Site, Icmeler, Marmaris Castle, Aqua Park and Paradise Island.

For shopping, you can go shopping everyday but if you want to have great discount of prices up to 50 off, the best time of the year to buy is from last week of September to last week of October. This is the season where most shop owners make inventory of their annual sales and put down the prices to get instant cash sales for their rentals, salaries and taxes. Have a great time in this city and enjoy the rich beauty of nature.
